the two-headed eagle (designed by I.Bilibin), the letters under it indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the mint trademark and the fine metal content. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «100 РУБЛЕЙ 1994 г.» (100 RUBLES 1994), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA).
Reverse
to the right - a profile portrait of Vasily Kandinsky, below - a palette and brushes, to the left in the background - a fragment of Kandinsky's painting "The Blue Horse" (an abstract image of a horseman and tree branches in the wind). The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — "РОССИЯ И МИРОВАЯ КУЛЬТУРА" (RUSSIA AND WORLD CULTURE), at the bottom - "В.КАНДИНСКИЙ" (V. KANDINSKY).

Vasily Vasilyevich Kandinsky (December 16 (4), 1866-December 13, 1944) - a Russian painter and graphic artist and one of the founders and theorists of abstract art, participated in organising the union of expressionist painters Blue Horseman (1911-1914) in Munich and the Art Institute in Moscow (1920-1924).
