Obverse

in the center — the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower — the semicircular inscription — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «ПЯТЬДЕСЯТ РУБЛЕЙ» (FIFTY RUBLES), at the bottom — the year of issue «2001», the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right — the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.

Reverse

to the left — a portrait of V. Poyarkov, under it — a coniferous twig, above it — two foxes holding a crown, a bow and two crossing arrows, to the right — a swimming sailing and rowing vessel, in the background — outlines of an Eastern Siberia’s map with inscriptions on it: «АМУР», «ЯКУТСК» (AMUR, YAKUTSK). The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «ОСВОЕНИЕ СИБИРИ XVI·XVII» (THE DEVELOPMENT OF SIBERIA XVI·XVII), at the bottom — the dates in two lines «1643·1646» and «ЭКСПЕДИЦИЯ В.ПОЯРКОВА» (THE POYARKOV’S EXPEDITION).
