Theophanes the Greek
Obverse
in the centre – the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower – the semicircular inscription – "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top – "СТО РУБЛЕЙ" (ONE HUNDRED RUBLES), at the bottom – the year of issue "2004", the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right – the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
the pictures of icons: in the centre – "Our Saviour", to the left – "The Virgin", to the right – "The St. John the Baptist", above the icons – the stylized image of the Annunciation Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin, to the left and to the right from the icons – scenes of the ancient Russian being. The inscription at the bottom: "ФЕОФАН ГРЕК" (THE OPHANES THE GREEK).

The icons of the Deesis (fourth) tier of the iconostasis has been painted by Theophanes the Greek in the 90th of the XIVth century for the Annunciation Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin.
