in the center — the Emblem of the Bank of Russia (the two headed eagle designed by I.Bilibin, lower — the semicircular inscription — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE RUBLES), at the bottom — «1999», the letters to the left indicate the metal sign and the fineness, to the right — the fine metal content and the mint trade mark.
Reverse
the picture of A.S.Pushkin holding a writing book and a goose quill in his hands, in the background to the right — personages of his works of literature («The Negro of Peter the Great», «Boris Godunov»), two woman's profiles (drawn by Pushkin), contours of window openings and cupolas of a church,to the left — «the Onegin's bench» in Trigorskoye and a horseman (drawn by Pushkin), lower — a manuscript. The inscription at the bottom: «АЛЕКСАНДР ПУШКИН» (ALEXANDR PUSHKIN) and the dates «1799 » «1837».

During his banishment to Mikhailovskoye, in the Pskov province, from 1824 till 1826 the poet created the main chapters of the novel in verse «Evgeny Onegin», cycles of some love lyric and the tragedy «Boris Godunov» which had became a decisive moment of his creative evolution.
