The Intercession Church on the Nerli-River
Obverse
the two-headed eagle (designed by I.Bilibin), the letters under it indicate the metal sign, the fineness, the mint trademark and the fine metal content. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «3 РУБЛЯ 1994 г.» (3 RUBLES 1994), at the bottom — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA).
Reverse
a view of the Intercession Church on the Nerli-River, to the left - a tree, over it - the date "1165" and a bird (a fragment of the church's carved stone ornament), to the right - a tree, the inscription along the rim: "ЦЕРКОВЬ ПОКРОВА НА НЕРЛИ" (THE INTERCESSION CHURCH ON THE NERLI-RIVER).

The Intercession Church on the Nerli-River - a remarkable architectural monument of the Vladimir-Suzdal school. Built in 1165 near the town of Bogolyubovo where the River Nerli flows into the River Klyazma, it is noted for the exceptional harmony of its proportions, exquisite carved stonework and plastic treatment of walls.
