Vladimir Ivanovich Nemirovich-Danchenko (1858-1943) producer, actor, writer, dramatist and pedagogue. In 1898 in co-operation with K.S. Stanislavsky he founded the Moscow Art Theatre. In staging plays of A.P. Chekhov and M. Gorky they opened new ways of producer's and actor's skill. V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko played decisive role in setting up theatre repertoire. He staged plays of Russian classics (A.N. Ostrovsky, F.M. Dostoyevsky) and foreign authors (W. Sheakspear, G. Ibsen) and others.
