in the cartouche against the background of the fragment of an ancient Russian deed - the miniature picture from "The Annalist Code" of the XVIth century depicting Udmurt people at the moment of forwarding a petition for entering into the Russian state, above on the matted cartouche with ornament - the eight-beam solar sign and inscription along the rim - "УДМУРТИЯ" (UDMURTIYA).
