Monitoring of businesses: companies improve their expectations

The Bank of Russia’s business climate index continued to grow in May. Its rise was not only due to improved expectations of businesses, but was also associated with less negative estimates of the current situation.
Companies producing consumer goods demonstrated a steady growth in estimates of business conditions. This was mainly due to the reorientation of demand to the domestic market amid the remaining problems with import supplies.
