Bank of Russia issues coins dedicated to cities of labour valour

On 18 November 2021, the Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins of base metal in the denomination of 10 rubles of the ‘Cities of Labour Valour’ series:

— Borovichi,

— Yekaterinburg,

— Ivanovo,

— Omsk.

The coins have a round shape and are 22.0 mm in diameter.

The obverse and reverse sides of the coins have a relief rim along the circumference.

The edge of the coins is intermittently corrugated and has alternating sections with different numbers of ridges thereon.

The obverse of the coins features the inscriptions along the circumference: ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA) at the top and ‘2021’ at the bottom. There are images of branches of the bay tree and oak tree on the left and right respectively. The number ‘10’ and the inscription ‘РУБЛЕЙ’ (RUBLES) below denoting the face value of the coin are in the centre. The digit ‘0’ features a security element inside in the form of the figure ‘10’ and the inscription ‘РУБ’ (RUB) visible at various viewing angles to the coin surface. The Moscow Mint trademark is at the bottom.

The reverse:

— of the coin Borovichi (Catalogue No. 5714-0075) features in the foreground a relief image of the commemorative symbol of a hospital city, and in the background — an arch bridge over the Msta River; along the circumference there are inscriptions: ‘БОРОВИЧИ’ (BOROVICHI) at the top and ‘ГОРОДА ТРУДОВОЙ ДОБЛЕСТИ’ (CITIES OF LABOUR VALOUR) on the band at the bottom.

The mintage of the coin is 1.0 million pcs.

— of the coin Yekaterinburg (Catalogue No. 5714-0076) features a relief image of a fragment of the monument to the Urals Volonteer Tank Corps; along the circumference there are inscriptions: ‘ЕКАТЕРИНБУРГ’ (YEKATERINBURG) at the top and ‘ГОРОДА ТРУДОВОЙ ДОБЛЕСТИ’ (CITIES OF LABOUR VALOUR) on the band at the bottom.

The mintage of the coin is 1.0 million pcs.

— of the coin Ivanovo (Catalogue No. 5714-0077) features a relief image of a fragment of the monument to the heroes of the front and the rear in honour of the combat and labour heroic deeds accomplished by people born in Ivanovo during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945; along the circumference there are inscriptions: ‘ИВАНОВО’ (IVANOVO) at the top and ‘ГОРОДА ТРУДОВОЙ ДОБЛЕСТИ’ (CITIES OF LABOUR VALOUR) on the band at the bottom.

The mintage of the coin is 1.0 million pcs.

— of the coin Omsk (Catalogue No. 5714-0078) features a relief image of a fragment of the monument to the war workers from Omsk; along the circumference there are inscriptions: ‘ОМСК’ (OMSK) at the top and ‘ГОРОДА ТРУДОВОЙ ДОБЛЕСТИ’ (CITIES OF LABOUR VALOUR) on the band at the bottom.

The mintage of the coin is 1.0 million pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance at their face value for all kinds of payments without any restrictions.
