Sixty years ago, the Vostok 1 space vehicle with Yuri Gagarin on board was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and orbited the Earth. The first cosmonaut’s flight will be remembered in history as the date when the human race managed to enter the aerospace.
On 31 March 2021, the Bank of Russia issues commemorative coins ‘The 60th Anniversary of the First Human Space Flight’:
— a silver coin in the denomination of 25 rubles;
— a silver coin in the denomination of 25 rubles with a coloured coating;
— a base metal coin in the denomination of 25 rubles;
— a base metal coin in the denomination of 25 rubles with a coloured coating.

The silver coins in the denomination of 25 rubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1,000) have a round shape and are 60.0 mm in diameter.
The obverse and the reverse of the coins have a relief rim along the circumference.
The obverse of the coins features a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions ‘РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ’ (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) and ‘БАНК РОССИИ’ (BANK OF RUSSIA), the coin denomination ‘25 РУБЛЕЙ’ (25 RUBLES), the year of issue ‘2021 г.’ (2021), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev’s Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the St. Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.
The reverse:
