On issuing of commemorative coins of precious and base metals

On December 28, 2017, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metal:

A silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble — „The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation” (catalogue number 5109 — 0121);
Two silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles — (catalogue numbers 5111-0371, 5111-0372) of the series „Legends and Tales of Russian Folks”;
Two silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles — (catalogue numbers 5111-0369, 5111-0370) and two silver proof coin coins in denomination of 25 Roubles in a regular edition design — (catalogue numbers 5115-0137,5115-0139) and special edition design—(catalogue numbers 5115-0138,5115-0140) of the series „Diamond Fund of Russia”;
Two silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles — (catalogue numbers 5111-0373, 5111-0374) and two base metals commemorative coins in denomination of 25 Roubles in a regular edition design — (catalogue numbers 5115-0020,5115-0022) and special edition design—(catalogue numbers 5115-0021,5115-0023) of the series „Russian (Soviet) animation”;

Description of the coins of precious metal:

Silver proof coin in denomination of 1 Rouble (fine metal content 7,78 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 25,0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs) have the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins — „1 РУБЛЬ” (1 ROUBLE) and the year — „2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of the emblem of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. There is an inscription „СЛЕДСТВЕННЫЙ КОМИТЕТ РОССИЙСКОЙ ФЕДЕРАЦИИ” („THE INVESTIGATIVE COMMITTEE OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION”) along the circumference;

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs of each design) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins — „3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES) and the year — „2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

of a silver proof coin „the Fire bird ” depicts a relief image made by use of techniques of partial gilding of fairy tale characters of „the Tale of Ivan Tsarevich, the Fire bird and the Grey Wolf” in the center, at the bottom there is ornament. There is an inscription „ЛЕГЕНДЫ И СКАЗКИ НАРОДОВ РОССИИ” („LEGENDS AND TALES OF RUSSIAN FOLKS”) along the circumference on top;

of a silver proof coin „the Frog Princess” depicts a relief image of fairy tale characters of „the Frog Princess” in the center, at the bottom there is ornament performed in color. There is an inscription „ЛЕГЕНДЫ И СКАЗКИ НАРОДОВ РОССИИ” („LEGENDS AND TALES OF RUSSIAN FOLKS”) along the circumference on top;

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs of each design) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The reverse side:

of a silver proof coin „Bow-sklavazh” depicts a relief image of bow-sklavazh. There is an inscription „АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” („DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA”) along the circumference on top;

of a silver proof coin „Porte bouquet” depicts a relief image of porte bouquet. There is an inscription „АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” („DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA”) along the circumference on top;

Silver proof coins in denomination of 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs including 150 pcs in a special edition) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins — „25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES) and the year — „2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. of a silver proof coin „Porte bouquet” depicts a relief image of porte bouquet. There is an inscription „АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” („DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA”) along the circumference on top;

of a silver proof coin „Bow-sklavazh” in a special edition depicts a relief image of bow-sklavazh with colour enamel elements. There is an inscription „АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” („DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA”) along the circumference on top;

of a silver proof coin „Porte bouquet” in a special edition depicts a relief image of porte bouquet with colour enamel elements. There is an inscription „АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” („DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA”) along the circumference on top;

of a silver proof coin „Three heroes” depicts an image of three heroes against the ancient town, performed in colour. There is an inscription „ТРИ БОГАТЫРЯ” („THREE HEROES”) along the circumference on top;

of a silver proof coin „Winnie the Pooh” depicts an image of the scene from the cartoon with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, performed in colour. There is an inscription „ВИННИ ПУХ” („WINNIE THE POOH”) along the circumference on top;

Description of the coins of base metals:

Base metals coins in denomination of 25 Roubles are white in colour (diameter 27.0 mm, mintage 500000 pcs of each design including 50000 pcs in a special edition), have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, a semicircular inscription - „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) above it. There are inscriptions in three lines: „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins — „25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES) and the year — „2017”, trade mark of the mint on the right.

The reverse side:

of a base metals coin „Three heroes” depicts a relief image of three heroes against the ancient town. There is an inscription „ТРИ БОГАТЫРЯ” („THREE HEROES”) along the circumference on top;

of a base metals coin „Three heroes” in a special edition depicts a relief image of three heroes against the ancient town, performed in colour. There is an inscription „ТРИ БОГАТЫРЯ” („THREE HEROES”) along the circumference on top;

of a base metals coin „Winnie the Pooh” depicts a relief image of the scene from the cartoon with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet. There is an inscription „ВИННИ ПУХ” („WINNIE THE POOH”) along the circumference on top;

of a base metals coin „Winnie the Pooh” depicts a relief image of the scene from the cartoon with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, performed in colour. There is an inscription „ВИННИ ПУХ” („WINNIE THE POOH”) along the circumference on top;

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
