Bank of Russia issues a commemorative coin

On 1 September 2016, the Bank of Russia issues a commemorative silver proof coin in denomination of 3 rubles dedicated to the centenary of the foundation of Murmansk.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of the monument to defenders of the Arctic against a background of a panorama of Murmansk. There is an inscription in two lines at the bottom: “МУРМАНСК ОСНОВАН В 1916 ГОДУ” (MURMANSK FOUNDED IN 1916).

The mintage of the coin is 3,000 pieces.
