Bank of Russia presents agenda for economic research for 2026–2028
The agenda for economic research addresses new challenges facing the Russian economy. One of the most pressing research questions is how artificial intelligence influences the economy and competition as well as financial decision-making.
Particular attention will be paid to monetary policy studies, with the Bank of Russia starting its next review of monetary policy. Specifically, researchers will explore the conditions enabling a reduction in the inflation target and the impact of marketplaces on inflation.
Furthermore, the Bank of Russia is interested in advancing research related to behavioural economics and finance. This includes examining fraud techniques in the financial services market as well as studying retail investors’ risks and financial literacy. Research in this area will inform decision-making in the field of consumer protection.
