Most regions record slower price growth in November vs October
In November, price growth decelerated in 53 out of the 85 Russian regions, while remaining at the October level in four others.
Most regions saw prices for fruit and vegetables as well as eggs increase more slowly than in October, with sugar prices continuing to drop. Prices for non-food goods were rising at a moderate pace overall, constrained by a decline in petrol prices, which had been soaring in previous months. Services became more expensive in November. The most notable increase was observed in health resort and passenger transportation services as people usually pay for their trips and accommodation in advance, so the November calculation already included the seasonal upturn in prices prior to the New Year holidays.
Annual inflation decelerated in 80 regions in November. The Bank of Russia will maintain high interest rates in the economy to ensure a sustainable return of inflation to 4%.
