News

The Bank of Russia has started to accept internship applications from Russian university students. Young people will have an opportunity to receive practical work experience in the Bank of Russia’s head office in Moscow and in its main branch in Saint Petersburg. More than 20 structural units of the Bank of Russia are looking for interns, including the banking regulation, monetary policy, insurance market, securities and commodities market departments.

‘We tried inviting students to apply for internships for the first time last year and we are happy with the results’, said Ruslan Vesterovsky, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia. ‘It is in the interests of the Bank of Russia that financial market participants be professionals. For this reason we are ready to share our knowledge and expertise with young specialists. An internship at the Bank of Russia provides a unique opportunity to dive into the country's financial and banking system and to explore one's potential’.

Students in the fourth (bachelors), fifth (specialists) and sixth (masters) years of full-time education are eligible for the programme. Selection includes the following stages: filling in the application (by 29 March), passing an online test in digital and verbal information analysis, and an interview with representatives of respective Bank of Russia divisions.

The students that successfully make it through all stages will start their internship in June. The internship lasts six months. It will include solving practical problems and involves a flexible working schedule of up to 20 hours per week. Students that successfully complete their internship will be considered for employment with the Bank of Russia.

For detailed information and the application form, see the regulator’s website.
