Inflation accelerates in 48 Russian regions in April

Annual inflation rose on average by 0.12 pp to 7.84% across Russia. Price growth accelerated the most in the Volga and Siberian Federal Districts, while the Southern Federal District saw a slowdown in inflation.
In most regions, the prices for home improvement goods, household chemicals and smallware, medical goods, confectionery, and animal products started rising faster.
The growth of prices for services, on the contrary, continued to slow down in most regions, most notably in transportation, tourism, and banking services. At the same time, mobile phone tariffs went up in all federal districts.
