Financial sector representatives to pilot new model of higher education
The Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation have discussed collaboration as part of the project of a new model of higher education and the engagement of financial industry representatives in the project. The parameters of this collaboration will be determined later.
Universities participating in the pilot will modify their academic curricula to meet the needs of the financial sector. This will help graduates be in demand in the labour market and enable businesses to hire qualified staff.
Moreover, the Bank of Russia and the ministries have signed an agreement on cooperation in financial literacy. The document regulates their joint efforts to enhance the financial literacy of students, researchers, and university teachers.
The key areas of cooperation include drafting projects and programmes on financial education, holding thematic conferences, olympiads, competitions, and teaching financial literacy at universities all over Russia.
