Total pension portfolio exceeds ₽7 trillion in 2022
In 2022, total holdings of non-governmental pension funds (NPFs) and pension savings managed by VEB.RF rose by 5.4% to exceed ₽7 trillion. At the end of the year, over 36.6 million households entrusted their savings to NPFs. NPFs' pension reserves grew by 7.7%, and pension savings increased by 2.5%. This is reported in the Review of Key Indicators of Non-governmental Pension Funds for 2022.
The returns on all NPFs' portfolios grew against those seen in 2021 due to a better situation in the debt market the tools of which were primarily used for investing. It is noteworthy that investment priorities changed. Compared to 2022 Q3, when NPFs preferred to invest funds in corporate bonds, the end of the year saw the expansion of investment in government securities.
