Bank of Russia and State Bank of Vietnam sign Memorandum of Cooperation
The 15th meeting of the Working Group on Interbank Cooperation under the Russian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation took place on 22-23 August 2017 in the city of Phu Quoc (Socialist Republic of Vietnam).
The Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Bank of Vietnam and the Bank of Russia, as well as the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and the International Bank for Economic Cooperation were signed during the meeting.
Furthermore, the parties discussed the current state and the prospects of bilateral cooperation, cooperation in the national payment card system project, launching RUB/VND trading on the PJSC Moscow Exchange, and cooperation within multilateral financial institutions. In addition, possible cooperation on financial markets was discussed.
The parties determined specific steps towards implementing the agreements and agreed to maintain regular contact.
Heading the meeting were Dmitry Skobelkin, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, and Nguyen Thi Hong, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam. Attending the meeting were representatives of Russian and Vietnamese credit institutions, the Vietnam-Russia Joint Venture Bank, the International Bank for Economic Cooperation, the Moscow Exchange, JSC NPCS and the Vietnamese corporation NAPAS.
