Social engineering remains a basic technique for wrongdoers to steal money from people, with phone fraud being a key channel for this offence.
The Bank of Russia has been working to detect scam phone numbers. The efforts ended in some 12 thousand such numbers blocked in 2021 Q2, more than double over the same period last year.
