About Improvement of Publications of External Sector Statistics

Within the framework of preparatory work on transition to the use of statistical terminology harmonized with that of the system of national accounts, the Bank of Russia introduces more precise names of certain indicators of external sector statistics. Starting with data release for the January-September 2018 period, the names of the table and indicators, which characterize cross-border capital flows of the private sector, are changed. Instead of the previous name “Net Inflows/Outflows of Capital by Private Sector”, the new name “Financial Transactions of Private Sector” will be used further on.

Beginning with the publication of data for January-September 2018, the indicator, which characterizes financial transactions of the private sector, will be also added as a memorandum item to the analytical presentation of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation.

The materials are posted on the official website of the Bank of Russia on the Internet within Statistics/Macroeconomic Financial Statistics/External Sector Statistics subdirectory under Balance of Payments to be updated on the dates set out in the Official Statistics Release Calendar.
