On publication of extended indicator of debt of non-financial sector and households

Seeking to improve the information support for its customers, in addition to the monthly indicator illustrating non-financial sector and households debt on bank loans and issued debt securities, the Bank of Russia has started publishing a quarterly extended indicator of debt of non-financial sector and households.

The new indicator expands the capabilities to monitor the financial standing of economic entities and allows assessing both internal and external debt of non-financial organisations and households broken down by financial instruments and currency (rubles and foreign currency).

The debt indicator draws on the following sources of information: monetary statistics, external statistics, securities statistics, as well as reporting by credit institutions and professional securities market participants.

Starting from data as of 1 January 2017, the extended indicator of debt of non-financial sector and households will be posted on the Bank of Russia website (Statistics // Macroeconomic Financial Statistics // Monetary and Financial Statistics). The indicator will be updated on a quarterly basis according to the Official Statistics Release Calendar.
