On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On August 26, 2016 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metal:

  • Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles and 25 Roubles of the series “Diamond Fund of Russia”.

Description of the coins of precious metal:

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs of each design) and 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1000 pcs including 150 pcs in a special edition of each design) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins - “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES), “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES) and the year - “2016”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side:

  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0340) and a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0122) depicts relief images of the Star of the Order of St. Andrew and the Great Imperial Collar and the Badge of the Order of St. Andrew. There is an inscription along the circumference on top: “АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” (DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA);
  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles in a special edition (catalogue number 5115-0123) depicts relief images of the Star of the Order of St. Andrew partly performed in colour and the Great Imperial Collar and the Badge of the Order of St. Andrew. There is an inscription along the circumference on top: “АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” (DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA);
  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0341) and a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0124) depicts a relief image of the Imperial Crown of Russia. There is an inscription along the circumference on top: “АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” (DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA);
  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles in a special edition (catalogue number 5115-0125) depicts a relief image of the Imperial Crown of Russia partly performed in a coloured enamel technique. There is an inscription along the circumference on top: “АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” (DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA);
  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0342) and a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0126) depicts relief images of the Imperial Sceptre and Orb. There is an inscription along the circumference on top: “АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” (DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA);
  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles in a special edition (catalogue number 5115-0127) depicts relief images of the Imperial Sceptre and Orb partly performed in a gilding and coloured enamel technique. There is an inscription along the circumference on top: “АЛМАЗНЫЙ ФОНД РОССИИ” (DIAMOND FUND OF RUSSIA).

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
