On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On December 21, 2016 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues:

• A silver proof commemorative coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0348) and a gold proof commemorative coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (catalogue number 5216-0111) dedicated to the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017;
• A silver uncirculated bullion coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0349) and a gold uncirculated bullion coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (catalogue number 5216-0112) dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia;
• Four silver proof commemorative coins in denomination of 3 Roubles dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia — „Ekaterinburg” (catalogue number 5111-0350), „Kazan” (catalogue number 5111-0351), „Kaliningrad” (catalogue number 5111-0352) and „Saransk” (catalogue number 5111-0353);
• A base metals commemorative coin in denomination of 25 Roubles dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia in a regular and special edition designs.

Description of the coins dedicated to the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017:

A silver proof commemorative coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 10000 pcs) and a gold proof commemorative coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage 5000 pcs) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins — „3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES), „50 РУБЛЕЙ” (50 ROUBLES) and the year — „2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coins depicts an image of the FIFA Confederations Cup Trophy against a background layer combining two types of inspiration: Russia’s cultural and folklore heritage and Football’s visual world. There is an inscription along the circumference at the bottom — „КУБОК КОНФЕДЕРАЦИЙ FIFA 2017” (FIFA CONFEDERATIONS CUP 2017).

Description of the coins dedicated to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia:

A silver uncirculated bullion coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage up to 300000 pcs) and a gold uncirculated bullion coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage up to 100000 pcs) have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coins bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: „РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), „БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins — „3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES), „50 РУБЛЕЙ” (50 ROUBLES) and the year — „2018”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. • of a silver proof commemorative coin „Kaliningrad” depicts an image of a cartouche with the Cathedral and an inscription „Kaliningrad” against a background layer combining two types of inspiration: Russia’s cultural and folklore heritage and Football’s visual world; a flying ball trail performed in colour; a football player. There is an inscription along the circumference on the left — „ЧЕМПИОНАТ МИРА ПО ФУТБОЛУ FIFA 2018 В РОССИИ” (2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA);

• of a silver proof commemorative coin „Saransk” depicts an image of a cartouche with St. Righteous Warrior Theodore Ushakov Cathedral and an inscription „Saransk” against a background layer combining two types of inspiration: Russia’s cultural and folklore heritage and Football’s visual world; a flying ball trail performed in colour; a football player. There is an inscription along the circumference on the left — „ЧЕМПИОНАТ МИРА ПО ФУТБОЛУ FIFA 2018 В РОССИИ” (2018 FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA).

A base metals commemorative coin in denomination of 25 Roubles is white in colour (diameter 27.0 mm, mintage 20000000 pcs including 250000 pcs in a special edition) and has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation, a semicircle inscription - “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION) above it. There are inscriptions in three lines: “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin - “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES) and the year - “2018”, trade mark of a Mint on the right.

The reverse side:

• of a base metals commemorative coin depicts an image of the Official Emblem of the 2018 FIFA World Cup;

• of a base metals commemorative coin in a special edition depicts an image of the Official Emblem of the 2018 FIFA World Cup performed in colour.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
