On issuing of commemorative coins of precious metals

On October 3, 2016 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues commemorative coins of precious metals:

  • A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0344) - “The Juma-Jami Mosque” of the series “Architectural Monuments of Russia”;
  • Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (catalogue number 5111-0345), 25 Roubles (catalogue number 5115-0128), a silver proof-like coin in denomination of 200 Roubles (catalogue number 5119-0007), a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (catalogue number 5216-0109) and a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles (catalogue number 5221-0030) - “Historical and Architectural Ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow” of the series “Russia in the UNESCO World Culture and Nature Heritage”.

Description of the coins of precious metals:

A silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs) “The Juma-Jami Mosque” has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin - “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES) and the year - “2016”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Moscow mint and fine precious metal content.

The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of the Juma-Jami Mosque. There are inscriptions: “МЕЧЕТЬ ДЖУМА-ДЖАМИ” (THE JUMA-JAMI MOSQUE) along the circumference on top, “ЕВПАТОРИЯ” (EVPATORIYA) at the bottom.

Silver proof coins in denomination of 3 Roubles (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs), 25 Roubles (fine metal content 155.5 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 60.0 mm, mintage 1500 pcs), a silver proof-like coin in denomination of 200 Roubles (fine metal content 3000.0 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 130.0 mm, mintage 150 pcs), a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles (fine metal content 7.78 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 22.6 mm, mintage 1500 pcs) and a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles (fine metal content 1000.0 g, fineness 999/1000, diameter 100.0 mm, mintage up to 75 pcs) “Historical and Architectural Ensemble of the Novodevichy Convent in Moscow” have the rim raised on both sides of the coins along the circumference. The edge of the coins is corrugated.

There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coins - “3 РУБЛЯ” (3 ROUBLES), “25 РУБЛЕЙ” (25 ROUBLES), “50 РУБЛЕЙ” (50 ROUBLES), “200 РУБЛЕЙ” (200 ROUBLES), “10000 РУБЛЕЙ” (10000 ROUBLES) and the year - “2016”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.

On the obverse side of the gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles there is an ordinal number of the coin with indication of the sign “№” in the lower part of it next to the fine precious metal content indication.

The reverse side:

  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 3 Roubles bears a relief image of the Smolensky cathedral. There is an inscription along the circumference on top - “НОВОДЕВИЧИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ В МОСКВЕ” (THE NOVODEVICHY CONVENT IN MOSCOW);
  • of a silver proof coin in denomination of 25 Roubles depicts relief images of the Dormition of the Mother of God and the Transfiguration of the Lord churches. There is an inscription along the circumference on top - “НОВОДЕВИЧИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ В МОСКВЕ” (THE NOVODEVICHY CONVENT IN MOSCOW) and a miniature below;
  • of a silver proof-like coin in denomination of 200 Roubles bears a relief image of a panorama of the Novodevichy convent. There is an inscription along the circumference on top - “НОВОДЕВИЧИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ В МОСКВЕ” (THE NOVODEVICHY CONVENT IN MOSCOW) and the “Siege of Smolensk” gravure below;
  • of a gold proof coin in denomination of 50 Roubles depicts a relief image of the Intercession church. There is an inscription along the circumference on top - “НОВОДЕВИЧИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ В МОСКВЕ” (THE NOVODEVICHY CONVENT IN MOSCOW);
  • of a gold proof-like coin in denomination of 10000 Roubles bears relief images of a panorama of the Novodevichy convent and a seal of Vasily III. There is an inscription along the circumference on top - “НОВОДЕВИЧИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ В МОСКВЕ” (THE NOVODEVICHY CONVENT IN MOSCOW) and a miniature below.

The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
