On issuing of commemorative coin of precious metals
On May 2, 2017 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation issues a commemorative coin of precious metal:
- A silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles - “Poet K.D. Balmont, the 150th Anniversary of the Birth (15.06.1867)” (catalogue number 5110-0149) of the series “Outstanding Personalities of Russia”.
Description of the coin of precious metal:
A silver proof coin in denomination of 2 Roubles (fine metal content 15.55 g, fineness 925/1000, diameter 33.0 mm, mintage 3000 pcs) has the rim raised on both sides of the coin along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The obverse side of the coin bears a relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation. There are inscriptions: “РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ” (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), “БАНК РОССИИ” (BANK OF RUSSIA), the denomination of the coin - “2 РУБЛЯ” (2 ROUBLES) and the year - “2017”, an indication of the metal according to the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Elements, purity, trade mark of the Saint Petersburg mint and fine precious metal content.
The reverse side of the coin depicts a relief image of K.D. Balmont. There is a signature facsimile and the dates “1867”, “1942” in two lines on the left.
The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
