The Bank of Russia banking schools (colleges) are institutions providing secondary vocational education and implementing under licence vocational secondary education programmes and complementary vocational training programmes. The Bank of Russia banking schools (colleges) are legal entities conducting their activities in compliance with federal legislation, the Statute of the Secondary Vocational Training Institution (Secondary Specialised Training Institution), the Statute of the Complementary Vocational (Advanced) Specialist Training Institution, regulations of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and Bank of Russia and the charters of educational institutions. Training programmes implemented in banking schools
Training is provided according to the curricula (programmes of study) that take into account the specifics of the activities conducted by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (Bank of Russia) and credit institutions.
Secondary vocational training in banking Basic level Basic level training programmes envisage the learning of the key types of professional activity at credit institutions and the formation of corresponding professional competencies, as well as the study of fundamentals of Bank of Russia activities. Advanced level Advanced level training programmes as compared with the basic level envisage the learning of complementary types of professional activity and the formation of professional competencies related to both the functioning of credit institutions and the activities of Bank of Russia establishments. Higher education (applied baccalaureate) in banking Training is provided as part of an experiment conducted by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in 2010-2014 on the basis of the Bank of Russia Moscow Banking School (College) and the National research university "Higher School of Economics". Complementary vocational training Advanced training This kind of training is aimed at executives and specialists of the various divisions of the Bank of Russia and credit institutions to help trainees improve their managerial skills and acquire new expertise in theory and practice. It is provided in the form of advanced training courses for executives and specialists of various divisions, seminars on specific issues relating to banking and study courses. Training is provided in response to applications made by the personnel services of the corresponding divisions of the Bank of Russia and credit institutions. Vocational retraining and training in new jobs This kind of training in intended for new Bank of Russia employees who have a higher education in economics or other subjects, specialists who are to be appointed to new jobs and employees of Bank of Russia divisions who need to acquire additional competences to perform their duties. Vocational retraining includes: — a basic course of training in the banking school in the subject: The Functioning of the Bank of Russia (it may be a three-week full-time course of training or a course of training by correspondence involving the use of distance education techniques). Basic training is designed to allow trainees to gain and systematise knowledge about the Bank of Russia and its activities, objectives, status, principles and functions; — practical training (study course) is provided in the Bank of Russia regional branches in all of their functionally interconnected divisions in the form of a 2- to 4-month course of full-time tuition or tuition by correspondence; — specialised training is provided in one of the following fields in the form of a 3- to 5-week course of full-time tuition:
Total duration of vocational training and retraining is 3 to 6 months (over 500 hours).
