PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Awarded the Order of Honour, and commendation of the President of the Russian Federation.

1998–2000: Leading researcher, the Russian-European Centre for Economic Reforms, Moscow.

1998–1999: Study course at Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics, Sweden.
