Powers of Financial Ombudsman Viktor Klimov extended

On 15 December 2023, the Bank of Russia Board of Directors decided to extend the powers of Viktor Klimov as Financial Consumer Ombudsman in the areas of insurance, credit cooperation, activities of credit institutions, pawnshops, and non-governmental pension funds.

According to Federal Law No. 123-FZ, dated 4 June 2018, ‘On the Financial Consumer Ombudsman’, the financial ombudsman is appointed by the Bank of Russia Board of Directors at the proposal of the Chief Financial Ombudsman for five years. Viktor Klimov was first appointed as Financial Ombudsman on 9 January 2019.
