Interbank Currency Council of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus holds meeting in Grozny

Representatives of the financial regulators of Russia and Belarus considered topical issues in the course of the regular meeting of the Interbank Currency Council of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus held in Grozny on 29 September 2018.

The Council discussed the current economic situation and the guidelines of the monetary policy of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus for 2019.

The meeting participants exchanged information on international reserves dynamics and mutual claims, as well as liabilities of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus (as per the international investment position) and discussed the current status and future reforms of the credit history institute.

In the course of the meeting Elvira Nabiullina, Governor of the Bank of Russia, and Pavel Kallaur, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, signed an agreement on cooperation to counter cyberattacks. This document is a milestone in the creation of a common cyberspace and a trusted financial environment within the Eurasian Economic Union.
