Appointment of financial consumer ombudsman

On 24 August 2018, the Bank of Russia Board of Directors decided to appoint Yuri Voronin as Chief Financial Consumer Ombudsman in Russia.

In accordance with Federal Law ‘On Financial Consumer Ombudsman’ (No. 123-FZ, published on 4 June 2018, becoming effective on 3 September 2018), the Chief Financial Ombudsman is appointed by the Bank of Russia Board of Directors as recommended by the Bank of Russia Governor and agreed with the President of Russia. Upon the recommendation of the Chief Financial Ombudsman, the Bank of Russia Board of Directors appoints the required number of financial ombudsmen responsible for specific segments of the financial market.

Previously, Yuri Voronin was Advisor to the Bank of Russia Governor.
