On October 1, 2009 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation puts into circulation commemorative coins of precious metals:
- a gold proof coin of 200 Rubles denomination "Biathlon" of the series "Winter Sports".
- a silver proof coin of 3 Rubles denomination, a silver proof-like coin of 100 Rubles denomination with selective gilding, a gold uncirculated coin of 100 rubles denomination, a gold proof coin of 1000 Rubles denomination and a gold proof-like coin of 25000 Rubles denomination of the historical series "The History of Money Circulation of Russia"
and a commemorative coin of non-ferrous metals of 10 Rubles denomination of the series "The Russian Federation":
- The Republic of Komi.
The Description of Coins of Precious Metals.
The gold coin of 200 Rubles denomination "Biathlon" (fine precious metal content 31.1 g, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5219-0014, diameter 33.0 mm, mintage 500 pcs.).
The rim is raised on both sides of the coin.
The obverse: the relief picture of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA). The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin "ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWO HUNDRED RUBLES) and the year of issue "2009", between them – the indication of the metal sign in accordance with the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Chemical Elements, the fineness, the trade mark of the Moscow Mint and the fine precious metal content.
The reverse: stylized images of two biathlon sportsmen.
The edge of the coin is corrugated.
The silver coin of 3 Rubles denomination (fine precious metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5111-0189, diameter 39.0 mm, mintage 5000 pcs.), the silver coin of 100 Rubles denomination with selective gilding (fine precious metal content 1 kg, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number 5117-0043, diameter 100.0 mm, mintage 250 pcs.), the gold coin of 100 Rubles denomination (fine precious metal content 15.55 g, fineness 900/1000, catalogue number 5217-0036, diameter 30,0 mm, mintage up to 30 000 pcs.), the gold coin of 1000 Rubles denomination (fine precious metal content 155.55 g, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5220-0007, diameter 50.0 mm, mintage 150 pcs.,) and the gold coin of 25000 Rubles denomination (fine precious metal content 3 kg, fineness 999/1000, catalogue number 5225-0002, diameter 120.0 mm, mintage 50 pcs.) of the historical series "The History of Money Circulation of Russia".

Mendeleyev Periodic System of Chemical Elements, the fineness, the mint trade mark and the fine precious metal content.
The obverse of the gold coin of 25000 Rubles denomination: the relief picture of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), lower – the indication of the year of issue "2009" and images of paper currency notes and coins against the background of guillache elements. The inscriptions at the top along the rim indicate the denomination of the coin "ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND RUBLES), the metal sign in accordance with the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Chemical Elements, the fineness, the trade mark of the St. Petersburg Mint, the fine precious metal content and the original number sign of the coin № .

-of the 3 Rubles silver coin - relief images of a bank note during the moment of its signing, "Sestroretsk" Ruble and two coins of the XVIIIth century against the background of guillache elements. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top - "ИСТОРИЯ ДЕНЕЖНОГО ОБРАЩЕНИЯ" (THE HISTORY OF MONEY CIRCULATION), at the bottom - "РОССИИ" (OF RUSSIA);
- of the 100 Rubles silver coin with selective gilding - relief images of workers during coins production process, twelve coins of the XVIIIth-XXth centuries against the background of guillache elements, five of which have been accomplished by using the gilding method. The inscriptions along the rim on the matted field: at the top – "ИСТОРИЯ ДЕНЕЖНОГО ОБРАЩЕНИЯ" (THE HISTORY OF MONEY CIRCULATION), at the bottom - "РОССИИ" (OF RUSSIA);
- of the 100 Rubles gold coin - relief images of three coins dating from various monetary reforms of the XIXth-XXth centuries. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top - "ИСТОРИЯ ДЕНЕЖНОГО ОБРАЩЕНИЯ" (THE HISTORY OF MONEY CIRCULATION), at the bottom – "РОССИИ" (OF RUSSIA);
- of the 1000 Rubles gold coin - relief images of a trading scene and five coins of various Russian principalities of the XIVth – XVIth centuries. The inscriptions along the rim: at the top - "ИСТОРИЯ ДЕНЕЖНОГО ОБРАЩЕНИЯ" (THE HISTORY OF MONEY CIRCULATION), at the bottom - "OF РОССИИ" (RUSSIA);
- of the 25000 Rubles gold coin - relief images: at the top - a trading scene against the background of ships and the Peter and Powel Fortress in St. Petersburg, at the bottom - ten coins of the Russian Empire of the XVIIIth - XXth centuries against the background of guillache elements. The inscriptions along the rim on the matted field: at the top – "ИСТОРИЯ ДЕНЕЖНОГО ОБРАЩЕНИЯ" (THE HISTORY OF MONEY CIRCULATION), at the bottom – "РОССИИ" (OF RUSSIA).

The Description of the Coin of Non-Ferrous Metals:
The coin has a form of round piece 27.0 mm in diameter. It is combined and consists of two parts: a disc made of white metal and an external ring made of yellow one. The rim is raised on both sides of the coin. The edge of the coin is corrugated and bears the inscriptions "ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TEN RUBLES) repeated twice and divided by asterisks.
The obverse: the inscriptions on the ring along the rim: in the upper part - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), in the lower one - "2009" indicating the year of issue. To the left and to the right on the external ring - images of laurel and oak twigs accordingly, with elements of their picture going over to the disc. In the centre of the disc - the figure "10" and the inscription under it "РУБЛЕЙ" (RUBLES) indicating the denomination of the coin. Inside of the figure "0" - a security element in the form of the figure "10" and the inscription "РУБ" (RUB - the abbreviation for Ruble) visible at different angles of vision relatively to the plane of the coin. In the lower part of the disc - the mint trade mark.

The reverse: on the disc - the image of the coat of arms of the Republic of Komi. The inscriptions on the ring along the rim: in the upper part - "РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ" (THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION), in the lower one - "РЕСПУБЛИКА КОМИ" (THE REPUBLIC OF KOMI).

Mintage: 10 million pcs.
The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance at their denomination for every kind of payments without any restrictions.
