On August 3, 2009 the Central Bank of the Russian Federation puts into circulation commemorative coins of precious metals:
- a silver proof coin of 3 Rubles denomination of the series "The Fauna of the Member States of the EAEC" ( Eurasian Economic Community);
- a silver proof coin of 3 Rubles denomination of the series "Legends and Tales of the Member States of the EAEC" (Eurasian Economic Community);
- a silver proof coin of 25 Rubles denomination "The Saint Trinity Skanov Monastery (the XVIIIth-XIXth centuries), Penza Region" of the series "Architectural Monuments of Russia";
- a gold proof coin of 200 Rubles denomination "Ski-Jumping" of the series "Winter Sports"
and a commemorative coin of non-ferrous metals of 10 Rubles denomination of the series "Ancient Towns of Russia":
- the Town of Velikiy Novgorod (the IXth century).
The Description of Coins of Precious Metals:
The silver coin of 3 Rubles denomination of the series "The Fauna of the Member States of the EAEC" (fine precious metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1000, catalogue number , diameter 39.0 mm, mintage up to 7500 pcs.).
The rim is raised on both sides of the coin.
The obverse: the relief picture of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA). The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin "ТРИ РУБЛЯ" (THREE RUBLES) and the year of issue "2009", between them - the indication of the metal sign in accordance with the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Chemical Elements, the fineness, the trade mark of the Saint Petersburg Mint and the fine precious metal content.
The reverse: relief images of a bear against the background of a wood and to the left - the Emblem of the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Community" (EAEC).
The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The obverse: the relief picture of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA). The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin "ДВАДЦАТЬ ПЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWENTY FIVE RUBLES) and the year of issue "2009", between them - the indication of the metal sign in accordance with the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Chemical Elements, the fineness, the trade mark of the Moscow Mint and the fine precious metal content.
The reverse: relief images of the Saint Trinity Skanov Monastery and to the right - a figured vignette. The inscription in two lines on the scroll at the top along the rim - "СВЯТО-ТРОИЦКИЙ СКАНОВ МОНАСТЫРЬ" (THE SAINT TRINITY SKANOV MONASTERY), at the bottom - the dates "XVIII-XIX вв." The rim is raised on both sides of the coin.
The obverse: the relief picture of the Emblem of the Bank of Russia - the two-headed eagle with wings down, and the semicircular inscription under it - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA). The inscriptions along the rim divided by dots indicate the denomination of the coin "ДВЕСТИ РУБЛЕЙ" (TWO HUNDRED RUBLES) and the year of issue "2009", between them - the indication of the metal sign in accordance with the D.I. Mendeleyev Periodic System of Chemical Elements, the fineness, the trade mark of the Moscow Mint and the fine precious metal content.

The reverse: the stylized image of a ski-jumper.

The Description of the Coin of Non-Ferrous Metals:
The coin has a form of round piece 27.0 mm in diameter. It is combined and consists of two parts: a disc made of white metal and an external ring made of yellow one. The rim is raised on both sides of the coin. The edge of the coin is corrugated and bears the inscriptions "ДЕСЯТЬ РУБЛЕЙ" (TEN RUBLES) repeated twice and divided by asterisks.
The obverse: the inscriptions on the ring along the rim: in the upper part - "БАНК РОССИИ" (BANK OF RUSSIA), in the lower one - "2009" indicating the year of issue. To the left and to the right on the external ring - images of laurel and oak twigs accordingly, with elements of their picture going over to the disc. In the centre of the disc - the figure "10" and the inscription under it "РУБЛЕЙ" (RUBLES) indicating the denomination of the coin. Inside of the figure "0" - a security element in the form of the figure "10" and the inscription "РУБ" (RUB - the abbreviation for Ruble) visible at different angles of vision relatively to the plane of the coin. In the lower part of the disc - the mint trade mark.

The reverse: on the disc – panoramic images of the town of Novgorod and its coat of arms. The inscriptions on the ring along the rim: in the upper part - "ДРЕВНИЕ ГОРОДА РОССИИ" (ANCIENT TOWNS OF RUSSIA), in the lower one - "ВЕЛИКИЙ НОВГОРОД" (THE TOWN OF VELIKIY NOVGOROD).

Mintage: 5 million pcs.
The coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation. They are obligatory for acceptance at their denomination for every kind of payments without any restrictions.
