The obverse:
in the centre – the Emblem of the Bank of Russia [the two-headed eagle with wings down, lower – the semicircular inscription – «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA)] framed by a circle of dots and inscriptions along the rim: at the top – «ДЕСЯТЬ ТЫСЯЧ РУБЛЕЙ» (TEN THOUSAND RUBLES), at the bottom – the year of issue «2004», the letters to the left indicate the metal sign, the fineness and the mint trade mark, to the right – the finemetal content and the ordinal number sign of the coin «№ ___».
The reverse:
the image of a running reindeer's buck and bitch with a cub against the background of the polar lights. The inscription at the top along the rim – «СОХРАНИМ НАШ МИР» (PROTECT OUR WORLD), at the bottom – stylized pictures of a northern pattern.
