The inscriptions along the rim: at the top — «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA), at the bottom in tree lines — "1 РУБЛЬ" "1992" (1 RUBLE 1992).

Admiral Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov (1802-1855) - a Russian naval commander. During the Crimean war of 1853-1856 he commanded the squadron that routed the Turkish fleet in the Battle of Sinop (1853). In February 1855, Admiral Nakhimov was appointed a commander of the port of Sevastopol and a military governor. He was fatally wounded on Malakhov Hill on June 28, 1855, and was buried in Sevastopol's Vladimir Cathedral.
