The banknote is printed on high quality white cotton paper. A transparent polymer security stripe is embedded into the paper to make a transparent window incorporating an optically variable element in the form of a snowflake. The highlight watermark is visible in the upper part of the banknote.

Ornamental designs run vertically along the banknote.

The front of the note features a snowboarder and some of the Olympic venues of the Sochi coastal cluster.

The back of the note features the Fisht Olympic stadium in Sochi.

The predominant colour of the note is blue.

  • Highlight watermark

When held up to the light, the watermark, with some elements lighter than the surrounding paper, is visible in the upper part of the note.

  • Polymer security stripe

The transparent polymer security stripe, 15 mm wide, is embedded into the banknote paper. Thanks to the polymer stripe, with no paper in its centre, an oval-shaped transparent window appears in the lower part of the note. When held up to the light, a snowflake with the surrounding window frost pattern becomes visible. When viewed from a certain angle, the snowflake appears light against a dark blue background or dark blue against a light background.

  • Hologram

The hologram comprises the stylized image of a burning flame made up of numerous fine metallic lines. The effect of a flickering flame is visible when viewed from different angles. The microtext „СОЧИ-SOCHI” appears in the upper part of the flame.

  • Hidden multi-coloured image

When the note is tilted, the four overlapping rhombuses, initially monochrome, reveal the hidden multi-coloured image of the stylized Olympic torch and the rhombuses that shift in colour. The colour-shifting effect is noticeable in both the elements when the note is tilted or rotated.
