The Central Bank of the Russian Federation continues to receive numerous complaints from the victims of fraudsters who offered them monetary compensation for previously purchased goods.

Having access to databases of sellers and distributors of medicines, nutritional supplements, and other goods, offenders usually telephone elderly people who purchased these goods and, introducing themselves as the employees of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, or other authorities, and citing the amount spent by these people on the goods, notify them of an alleged court ruling regarding government compensation for their expenses. The Bank of Russian is cited as the organisation that will be paying a monetary compensation to the victims (which may be in cash).

The Central Bank of the Russian Federation reiterates that it does not work with private individuals and does not make any payments, including compensation, for purchased goods.

If you receive any offers on behalf of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation regarding compensation for earlier purchased goods, please contact the police.
